Dare to be Different!
17th Oct 2024
We recently teamed up with 11 of the fiercest, most fearless DIY dyers to showcase the limitless potential of colour and self-expression. These colour rebels are redefining what it means to be bold, unique, and true to yourself. Our photoshoot ‘models’ appeared on the Crazy Color radar thanks to their exceptional at-home dyeing skills!
A Riot of Color in Manchester
These guys came ready to tear up the rulebook and rewrite it in every shade. We brought them all together for a day of colour, creativity and being immersed in the Crazy Color community! Each of our DIY-Dyers demonstrated their unique techniques and styles. It wasn’t just a photoshoot—it was an explosion of individuality. From flaming oranges to electric pinks, they showed us that with Crazy Color, there’s no limit to how far you can push the boundaries of creativity.
“We were so proud to have this inspiring group of DIY-Dyers with us in Manchester who completely embraced the day and got to share a little bit of their own story with us and in front of the camera! We wanted to celebrate the incredible talent and individuality within our community. The 'Dye to Defy' campaign is all about empowering people to express themselves fearlessly through hair colour and this group absolutely embody the Crazy Color spirit perfectly!" – Crazy Color Team
Meet the Dyers Who Dare
These aren’t just any DIY-Dyers, they’ve each made Crazy Color a part of their identity. Everyone has their own unique story and shade obsession, proving there’s no one way to rock vivid hair.
Olivia Beecher , a.k.a Liv, has been every colour of the rainbow, but bright orange has stolen her heart. “I've fallen in love with being bright orange for some time now! Orange is definitely associated with me now - even my suitcases match my hair!
I've never wanted to look 'the same' as everyone else, and part of doing that is changing from my natural colour. It gives me so much confidence to be different, and I love brightening up people's days with my neon hair! Plus - you'll never lose me at a concert!
Louise Gather is all-in on tangerine. As a wedding celebrant from Derbyshire, her orange hair has become more than just a statement—it’s a way of life. “I am fully committed to being a full-time tangerine. Having orange hair has become a huge part of identity and personality and my whole life now revolves around orange. I see colouring my hair as a way to express myself. I love that people comment on my hair everywhere I go, and people often say how much it has brightened up their day.”
Shannon Wright, another DIY queen, knows that life is better in colour. “I think it's so important to be who you want to be regardless of anyone else's opinion. I spent so many years trying to fit in, to look a certain way by people I thought were important. The day you realise no one else's opinion matters, especially if you're unhappy on the inside, is the best feeling. Life's so much more magical when you're happy and that's what colouring my hair helps me do.”
Jess Barker is a force of glam-rock nature with her half-pink, half-orange locks. For her, hair colour is everything: “Colouring my hair means so much to be because it’s an extension of who I am. I can choose which vibe I want to show the world- I can use it to reflect what’s going on in my life- I can dye it to celebrate a holiday, cheer myself up, or even just because I need a creative outlet! I’ll ALWAYS feel my most confident with shiny, freshly coloured hair. One dye job is all I need to take on the world”
Silvia Romero took the leap from natural to vibrant with Pinkissimo, and she hasn’t looked back since. “I decided to step out of my comfort zone. For me, coloring my hair is more than just changing my look—it's a powerful way to show who I am and bring out my creative side. I love how it allows me to embrace change and at the end is all about celebrating individuality and uniqueness."
Behind the Scenes of Dye to Defy
What happens when you give 11 DIY masters the freedom to experiment with Crazy Color? Pure magic. Every one of these models took their favourite shades and made them entirely their own—creating custom hues, combining colours, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with hair dye.
Our full range of shades were on display, proving once again that our products are made for those who aren’t afraid to embrace their individuality. Whether it’s Chantelle’s signature Cyclamen or Aaron’s smoky Silver with a pop of Rebel UV, every model’s look had one thing in common: confidence.
